I don’t get the hatred. It's impossible for anyone on here to be a longer Calgary Flames fan than myself. I just don’t hate Vancouver.
Now if we are talking about the clowns from the north.. Well that’s just born into me.
I am actively watching the Van games, along with Boston.
1-0 tonight for the good guys. I really don’t think the preds have much of a chance now that the first round jitters are out of the way.
Van will make the final.

Canadian teams
Great thread, nothing like the NHL playoffs to bring Canadians together. I have to say that the Canucks have a great team and certainly are capable of hoisting the cup this year. I would also add that I am not buying into them being Canada's team though.For the past several years I have been a hard core Flyer fan. One of the main reasons for this is that they are represented by a large number of Canadian players year after year. Their performance and play is truly Canadian. The New York Rangers have traditionally loaded their team with good old Western Canadians also. At this time with 8 teams left, Washington has the most Canadians, the Flyers are second with Detroit dead last. Vancouver is poorly represented by Canadians. Their top four include 2 Swedes, 1 American and 1 Canadian. I will be the first to appreciate a Canadian based team when they are led by Canadian born and bred players. Vancouver is great, just not Canadian enough for me yet.

I tried really hard to be a good Canadian boy in the first round and cheer for the home squads. Then I found myself more excited when the other guys scored........much like my 'wingman' days!

Not impossible Jamie, we were lucky enough to get season tickets the first year they were in Cowtown in the old Corral...I agree with you I still hate the Oilers and will never cheer for them, but will cheer loudly for the Nucks on there current run I really think it would be great if they win it...

BP. Totaly imposible to be LONGER fans. You can tie me (Or us in this case) but you cant beat us.
Personaly, I was fortunate enough to be at the very first game game.
I assume you were there as well. Do you still have the parchment paper they gave out comemerating the first game?
I had it until we lost it in the fire. To bad that was a serrious collectable.
You and I are one of very few people since the Corral held so few fans.
Good times back then.

Well you got me by a couple games...I missed games 1 and 2 in the Corral, I remember that very well I got called up north to work the day before Game 1 and I was choked....the place was a madhouse though and one of the loudest bldgs. in the league at that time, incredible when you consider capacity was just 7000 and change, good times for sure!!!...Go NUCKS

I can't cheer for a team that would trade a player like CAM NEELY !!!! ..................... and he's from BC ............ and don't get me started on their crappy jersey's !!!

That trade will likely go down as the worst in NHL history.
The Vancouver Canucks don't have many Canadian born players anyways. If they did win the cup, it would spend more time in Europe and the US than in Canada.
