any boat motor prop people out there

my bro received an older model boat for free and the first time out the prop spun itself off .it appears to be an 11 splice 35 hp merc .hes not sure if he can get that type of prop still and all i know on boats is that they float on water most of the time,so i place the ball in the court of the experts and ask if anybody knows about this.

Should be no problem finding a prop for it. Make sure he puts a cotter pin in the shaft. Thats more than likely what happened when he lost the last one. The cotter pin probably rusted out and they will spin themselves off. The nut that holds them usually doesnt get tightened too much.
