What do you do with your arrow after a kill
Here's something to talk about. After taking an animal do you keep using the arrow or dedicate it to the animal. I dedicate it to the animal and put the arrow in the horns on the wall.

I keep my arrow and hang it on the wall out of respect for the animal that gave up its life

I keep mine in my bow case, but am planning on building a little rack to hold them.

if the arrow is still good I put it back in the rotation, otherwise I usually clean it up and put on the plaque mount

Use it again.
I usually put a new broadhead on and use it on the next critter.

Here are afew pics of the arrow rack i built out of oak. I branded my initials in the face plate with a small bent wire. It does the trick, but id change a couple things if i were building another....First id make it smaller, alot smaller!! Im just real fussy in the field... Ya thats it.
keep a strain on er.

Give it a wipe, toss a new broadhead on it, and get to shooting again..
Sometimes I might retire a broadhead...sometimes I will just swap out blades or re-sharpen it up if its still in good shape....

Wipe it off, change the fletch if need be, sharpen the Zwickey, and stick it back in the quiver, unless it's beyond repair.
Then I simply bbust it in half and get that great Port Orford smell of the cedar!

Save the broadhead, check arrow for straightness, if arrow is good put on a judo and add to chicken quiver.

I saved the arrow from my first archery kill ever last year (probably would have re-used it, but it was busted).
This fall, I killed my first yote with a bow, and that arrow went back into the quiver, blood stained vanes and all. For the rest of the season, that was the arrow that was nocked.
When I managed to take my first archery buck this November, that was the arrow that flew first. It ticked a branch and hit the ground under the buck. I connected with my second shot, and recovered both arrows. They're back into rotation because I'm cheap. Once I get another bunch of 'em they may be retired. I love the karma that they have, but I'd really hate to lose one of 'em too. Maybe they'll just ride along in the quiver. Not sure yet........

arrow
I use a black pen an write the animal name on the fletch and use it again. This year I got my WT buck, MD buck and Pronghorn buck all with the same arrow. I figure if I can make it to six (one name on each side of every fletch) I'll put it on the wall. Bear season coming soon, I find they almost always break my arrows though.
