I would say build a small casting deck across the back with the live well running across the boat in front of the bilge area. you dont need full access to the bilge at all times so just make it so it isnt to hard to take apart if needed. go to some new boat sites and check out how they have their livewells. bobs livewell both run across the back of the boat. you could also cut the console supports and frame your livewell in there and just make a new support system around the livewell for both consoles. this way you could still have your livewell where you want it and have the rest of the boat open for what ever storage options you want.

if stang comes with me ill need to have a complete storage area for all of his stuff.

nate, what about that idea i emailed you last night about putting the livewell in the bow casting deck then making storage boxes behind the console..... ill share that idea with the rest of you later.

so working on it now. the guy had a mess with all the wiring. i pulled the plugs and replaced them, new solenoid and we are just getting it started now. ps it is a 2 stroke, i was wrong.

so what i was thinking is that if i put the livewell in the bow deck, that eats up all of the storage space because i also need to make seating room and stuff. but what i could do is make storage boxes right behind the console because with the windsheild there, you will never fish from the driver or passenger seats. so that could be storage with my lock pin mount for my seats in the lid. then once we get to where we are going we will be moving our seats to either the bow or the rear of the boat anyways.

If i build to decks i will be getting dangerously close to a bass boat. lol although that is an option. it would just be a very narrow rear deck. although that eats up alot of space in the boat.

Good going!

If it's running good now, don't presume it needs a tune up. It may not need anything done to it. You may have to get it on the water to find out if it is misfiring or anything under load. Make sure the bottom end has oil in it.

Have a read through this guys article on what he did to his boat. It should give you some ideas.

I was just going over the thread again and realized that the link didn't make it on the post. Sorry about that.

Braun, I would put the livewell at the back on the port side(left). A narrow livewell running lengthwise of the boat, butt up against the furthest rear to 3 feet forward should be plenty(although if you extend it you would have a separate storage area as well). Then cover it in and a hard lid for the top and its pretty much out of the way. Also, this position will be the easiest on the fish. If you are unsure of what I mean PM me.

ps if you fish alone the livewell will help balance the weight out.

I have a Legend Angler and the livewell on it is located under and the passenger seat. This box type well is up against the wall and the pass. seat
sits on top of it on a swivel. The Livewell is about 12 inches longer than
the seat and there is a hatch behind the seat for easy acccess. Its are real good idea and use of space. Compared to just having a post seat with wasted space under it , the livewell doesnt really use up any space you
expected to use anyways. The intake comes from the back of the transom where the drain is. The pump is there also. Its easy to get at and service or replace if needed. The Outlet ( pumpout ) simply goes out the side of the
boat right where the livewell is . The outlet is about 10 inches abover the water line of the boat. You can use your cooler idea in this situation by boxing it in and covering it with whatever you need. Then mount a swivel base and your seat on it. My boat is a 2009 Legend Angler. LEgend has now moved the well to the bow but I really like my set up . Its one of the great space saver ideas in a small boat like mine.
Good luck with your project.... you have a clean slate to work with.
