Default 31 Sturgeon On Opening Day

My 2 fishing partners and I had our best opening day on the S.S.R. ever. With a total of 38 fish, including walleye, ling, suckers, chubbs, and 31 sturgeon. Thats right 31 sturgeon. With the biggest ones being 51in. 49in 47in and 40in. Most of them were small 12in to 30in. With 2 double headers and a personal best day of 15 sturgeon, it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

Took the family out north of LLoyd on the NSR. Fished from 1 till 4 , not prime time , but got 5 sturgeon and 3 suckers. My daughters biggest was pushing 30lbs, and wore a pink tag. It said Edmonton S03063. Anyone know where to get more info on this ? We were 270km east of Edmonton, give or take. The current and debris pushed the lines downstream , so I'm guessing all fish were caught within 25ft of shore. I'll post pics if someone will tell me how.

If I may ask, what stretch of the SSR were you on?
I was wanting to head to the river as well, but here in the Hat the water is very very muddy.

She saw what the big one did to her sister last year , so nervous might be a good word. She was getting pretty cocky , and I actually had to leave her with her mom for a while during the fight to help her sister land a smaller one. My kids love the river ! Bring alot of it home on there clothes every time ! My 4.5 yr old caught his first today too.http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...z/IMG_0508.jpg

Day 2 Hit the S.S.R. first light fished for 5 hours and caught 7 sturgeon 4suckers and 1 chubb. All of them were small today biggest one was 30in.There was a north wind blowing this morning making it hard to keep the boat still. I seem to do better the less my boat moves.6 days of hollidays left one of those days the big ones will be bitting.

I fished the SSR at the Forks from shore yesterday evening and for the morning today. In all I caught 4 sturgeon (biggest one was 29.1 lbs), a 9.2 lb burbot and 7 suckers.
