Fire Ban
All i know is its been alot dryer in previous years and no fire bans , over reaction but better safe than sorry. I know i would hate to fish my favorite holes in the future walking in ash. If only everyone had common sense, yeah right.

Province wide? That's overkill. It's raining here right now.

Stelmach mentioned that a primary reason for the province wide ban was due to the exhaustion of the Provinces fire fighting teams already with their hands full with the current out of control fires. Cities and towns from all over are sending Fire Fighter support to help with the disasters still out of control. Crews are short. Not a good time to go into May long weekend.

The ban definately sucks, and I won't be having a fire in alberta this weekend... not looking for a 5000$ fine, and if you do start a forest fire you will be charged for the cost to fight at, at no $ limit. No thanks. Im surprised there is a fire ban for southern alberta considering its going to rain ALL weekend but what can you do.. getting ****ed off or disappointed won't get you anywhere... but a vehicle will! hahaha

CFD member was just on global news telling people to call 311 if someone is having a fire outside this weekend. They will respond promptly along with bylaw. Bylaw will write the ticket and the Fire Dept. will extinguish the fire. I have a feeling that if they need to extinguish an outdoor fire this weekend they will likely show up with full lights and sirens and hook up to the hydrant rather than use a fire extinguisher just to send a message.

Dont load your toys either , there also a no no , just take your bible , sit in a chair , shut up , and do as your told.

My campsite just got switched at aspen beach because the one I had booked is flooded at the moment. You would think that each operator would have feed back about the conditions at thier campground and make decisions that way. How hard is it to check wet or dry on a web page?
