Smile Bob Loblaw's blah-blah-blah...

Figured it's about time to post up some pics.
I ain't been out much, so it's kinda slim pickin's for now.
Here goes nuttin'!

I fished a little creek with my 2wt on Friday. Obviously, I like to take pics of my Orvis Battenkill reel...

I thought it looked good with this cool-colored log as a background...

Caught a mess o' trout on this Serendipity nymph, fished just under the surface...

This emerging Dragonfly liked my reel...

It was neat to see this Dragonfly just as he emerged from his shuck; all ready to enter the flying stage- just waiting for the wings to unfurl...

It was a dreary, rainy morning. Or, as I see it: fishing weather!

(more to come...)

I fished water that looked like this...

And, caught many, many of these...

Got some on nymphs, fished as a dropper off a dry fly...

Had way more fun when I fished just dry flies.
Got a few on Chernobyl Ants...

It just got crazy when I tied on a Royal Wulff; little buggers loved it!

Got one Brookie amongst all the 'bows...

(still more to follow...)

Fishing slowed down when the sun came out.
Oh, well; there's always flowers...

Hit the Bow with a friend super early Sunday morning. We were hoping to find fish looking up for the bug that shed this shuck...

Fish were slurping stoneflies along a grassy bank. Only took 3 casts before Rick had a nice Brown inhale his foam imitation...

A few more drifts, and I had a nice rainbow; my first bow river trout on a stonefly dry!

I think this guy followed me home from the river...

My daughter took these pics along the river near Field, B.C. a few weeks ago...

Default Not really fishing related...

10 years ago, my wife, my daughter(4 years old at the time), & I went to a breeder to get a puppy. One puppy fell asleep in my kid's arms, and she said, "This is the one!"
She named him "Bear", 'cuz she said he looked like a baby polar bear...

Becca & Bear grew up together. He LOVED to wake her up every morning; let's just say her face was washed before she got outta bed!

Bear loved "Mom"(she who feeds me)...

Bear got a little spoiled when it came to toys. He played with them. A lot. Very loudly!

(continued...)

we have a bichon too. She's such a little angel and is quite the hilarious little thing. Awesome family dog, and she had just as many toys bear did. Could never really find her favorite one!

Unhappy

Bear grew into 30 lbs of unconditional love & a great addition to our little family. He never complained about the indignities he suffered at our hands, as the following pics demonstrate...

He loved our new furniture; he napped on every inch of it!

A few weeks ago, Becca took this pic of herself & her dog in our backyard...

At the time, we had no idea that it would be the last picture we would take of our Bear.
On the day we met Bear, he fell asleep in Becca's arms. 10 years later, I held him in my arms in the vet's office as he went to sleep for the last time.
The house seems very empty without him. I'm not sure who misses him most...

Great pics thanks for sharing. I think a couple of your "Orvis" pics are ad worthy!....like something you would see in a catalogue or magazine.

Excellent pictures, in fact your black and white one of your rod and reel is now my new wallpaper.

Very nice pictures, Steve...if you're interested, your dragonfly is almost certainly Ophiogomphus severus (Pale Snaketail).

Very sorry to hear about Bear. Have been through that a couple of times, and it's always a hard thing to go through.

Thanks for the comments, y'all.
I appreciate them a lot.

Every day there are so many things that remind us of Bear.
For instance, right now I'm typing this with 2 hands; if he was here, chances are my left hand would be petting him.
Here in the kitchen I can see the chair legs that he teethed on...as well as the legs on the barnboard telephone table; I fixed the hole he gnawed through the drywall many years ago, but I know where it was...
I cut the grass & don't have to pick up doggy landmines; never thought that would make me sad, but it does.
I miss playing 'musical chairs' with him. Any time we were all sitting around the living room, there was one thing we could count on- if one of us left the room for a few seconds, we would return to find Bear curled up in the spot we just vacated! Every time!

We got 10 years of unconditional love from him; we're grateful for that.

Sorry to hear about Bear.... I had a great dog named Bear, she was a sweetheart.

Awsome pics as always!

Consider this pattern "borrowed". New to me, but I can see it's place.

Horsemint is a great medicine, a diuretec for cleansing the blood and lymphatic system. It really helps people with asthma. A steam bath with the tea is great for children having an asthma attack. A cup of tea will help keep the asthma from occuring.

nice shots - what are you using? DSL or just P&S... if its just a P&S the macro setting is very nice to get fine lines on the droplets

Thanks for the info on the Horsemint; I had no idea. maybe you should change yer forum handle to "Walking Encyclopedia"???

Regarding the Serendipity Nymph- I buy my flies, but it seems like a fairly simple tie. I've had pretty good luck fishing it behind a dry fly; sometimes I add floatant to the 'hackle' so it stays on top.

As for the harebell pic- I don't have a fisheye lens. I added the fisheye effect as well as a spotlight effect with Kodak Easyshare software that came with my previous digital P&S camera. I probably overuse the spotlight...

I use an Olympus Stylus 850SW(shockproof & waterproof).
Adequate for my purposes, and worry-free. I like it.
