Default Lynx??

Does the lynx population follow the 7 year cycle of rabbits? I've actually seen a few in the last year or so and got curious to this. I looked in the regs but there does'nt seem to be any info. Do they fall into the yote/fox catagory or can they be trapped only?

Hi Brutecamo,

Yes! the lynx follows the rabbit cycle as their diet is predominantly composed of wild hare.

They can only be trapped by trapline holders on their trapline and have to be registered at a F&W office closest to you at the end of the season (before a certain date). On the other hand, there is a season for bobcats now if you wish to hunt them, but they have to be registered at the end of the season as well.

Hope this helps!

Cabot
