That’s great research, I have a picture of Claude holding the cup and the fans in the picture are clearly not all wearing red, I don’t even think it’s 50%, but it was definitely the start of it. I think if you google 1986 Stanley Cup Champs, you will see the picture. Go Flames.

I always wanted a Flames anything growing up. No one had Jerseys. You were happy with a T shirt, a Hat and a pennant in your room. I got my first Jersey in 2004.

Do you remember the Canucks waving those towels?

I kinda wonder if that was the real start of the fan involvement?
I always thought that was so cool as a kid.

I THINK, that Calgary gets the nod for street parties during the different series as well. Now it's extremely common. The teams actually use it to make $$$. The Flames are going right over the top this year with it all.

I was watching on tv when the first white towel was waved ! I would have surrendered as well if the officials were as bad as I remember.

Since the 7-game format in Round 1, the team with the shutout first game are 7-0. Hope the trend continues!

All these awesome teams playing right now clearly show how far the Oilers have to go. So much depth, size, and skill on most of these teams it’s amazing.

Bluejackets had 2-0 lead against Washington last year as well, so it aint over but good on them.

Wow late games are crazy, Jets tie it up with seconds left in second, and Sharks tie it up in 2-3 minutes left in the first.

I hope someone from CBJ hands it to Kucherov,
Big cheap shot when the game is out of hand.

I think he will be suspended 1 game probably 2. Head shot on player in vulnerable position.

Those two calls against San Jose last night are some of the worst I've ever seen.

Sounds like Hedman may be questionable as well. Not that it really matters IMO, those guys haven't been doing much.

MAF although he is a great goalie, he bugs the Hell out of me with his dives and dramatics drawing penalties, trying to get goals called off with interference. Refs need to watch him more than anything.

Sad Oiler fact, he scored his first NHL playoff goal in game one of that series after being in the league for 9 years.

Couldn't agree more.

I absolutely detest fish outa water goalies. Luongo and Smith are two of the worst, especially when Smith was with The Desert Dogs and Bobby-Lou in Van.

Anyone watch the Leaf/Bruin game......Wow, what a nasty affair! The Bruins were absolute Monsters! Not a good night for Leaf fans.

I have to look at the replay again but Brian Burke is predicting a cross check by Khadri on DeBrusk will result in a 5 game suspension as a repeat offender. Earlier, DeBrusk had a controversial hit on Khadri that could be perceived as knee on knee but there was no penalty on the play. Gonna be some controversy coming out of this game......and oh, what a great game it was.

How many suspensions has this clown had over the last few years? And for crosschecks. I think will be lucky if he just gets 5.

Maybe he's tired of playoff hockey and saw an out.

During the intermission they showed a graphic with four 3 & 4 game suspensions. I heard something about one being a team suspension though.....I think. They showed replays of his infractions and one was another crosscheck to the head. Speculation is that he’s going to “be hit hard”.

Chara should have dummied kadri....I can't see how this POS is still able to put skates on and play and survive a season with his lack of respect....time will tell.

Sit and watch a few games at least....

It's great to see Eberle coming into his own. He was kind of hanging out on the periphery during the regular season, but is stepping up now adding more depth to this team. I might be eating my words when I said the New York Islanders would be bounced in round one!

Kadri is a dumb*****. The Leafs should have traded him when he still had some semblance of currency. Even though he can play at different positions and on special teams, I think he's still an overall liability for the reason we saw last night. I hope he does return for some of this series. The look in DeBrusk's eyes when he got up - payback won't be if, it will be when!
