Yep definitely a 2 for 1 deal in the playoffs. Jumbo Joe got 1 game for his hit to head last night where that was 2 games in the regular season.

I think that Thornton deserved the one game in today’s NHL. It was similar to Niskanen’s hit on Crosby and he didn’t get anything. I guess that the NHL has to go with the president that they set.

I thought TB would win it all this year, not get swept in the first round. Good thing I'm not in any pools lol.

Crazy stuff, Tampa ties the record for most wins in a season, then sets a record for the first ever President's Trophy winner to get swept.

Wow... the TB / CBJ series is going to go down as one of the most surreal in playoff history. And it just may reinforce the curse of the the President's Trophy.

I didn't bet on TB in the AO pool because I thought they'd sweep it in four (not the other way around), and the Sportsnet Playoff Pool rewards total points, so I picked the teams I thought would go the full 7 games.

That said.... go Pens!!!!!

WOW, what a crazy first round of games. Probably could have made a pretty sum if you bet some $$ on those two sweeps down in Vegas.

Looks like the the Sharks, similar to the Flames last night, forgot they had a game.

Any odds that 2 top teams in east and west will be gone soon?
Bolts, Flames, Sharks and Bruins.
I recall 8-10 years back all 4 tops went out first, IIRC was when Kings won it when in 8th place in the west.

And love the Bossy pic, and that’s when the nets held the pucks instead of having to go to replays to see if puck went in.
But good to see the groin cutters removed from the bottom.

My wife brought home a bracket sheet from where she works.
She is not in the least a hockey fan, so asked if I would pick for her.
On a whim I took Columbus and Islanders in the first round.
LOL. My other picks are more wishful thinking, but who knows.

Nope, but I do envy his fashion sense

While we're waiting for the outcome of the first round, here are some fun facts about playoff teams with Canadian players:

2019 Playoff teams with most Canadian players: St. Louis (18), Vegas (14), Winnipeg (14)

2019 Playoff teams with least number of Canadian players: Boston and Washington (4)

Now I know why I have a soft spot for both St. Louis and Vegas (and why I can't stand Boston...)
