Default Residue on Arrows?

Hey Everyone,

My wife bought me 2 arrows to try for Christmas. They are PSE Radial X-Weave ST Hunter Arrows in 400 Spine.

I just shot them for the first time last week, and they shoot awesome. But, I have noticed my target left a residue on them...

I am shooting into a Rinehart 18-1 Target. I have shot this target a lot, and never noticed the residue on my past arrows. I was shooting at 30 Yards, and it was ~0*C outside.

Would the residue be because of the cold temperature? My target is stored in the unheated garage.

Would arrow lube help?

Thanks for any insights!

J

This stuff works great. Won't harm your arrows. Spray 5-6 inches and wipe off. You could use a bar of hand soap and rub it on but this Jig-a-loo is inexpensive, efficient and long lasting.

Do you just wipe off excess prior to shooting? And reapply as necessary?

Thanks for the tip! I'll grab some when I'm in town and give it a try.

Just an update, I sprayed on some Jig-a-loo, then wiped off, and shot a few arrows yesterday.

There is still a residue on the arrows (PSE x-Weave ST Hunter), and they were just as difficult to remove. I shot a couple of my RedHead brand arrows, and they were easier to remove, however I think with the cold weather, the target foam on my Rinehart is becoming a lot more dense, and that's why it is so much more difficult.

I'll shoot rinehart an email and inquire, and will update as necessary.

If you are shooting a Rinehart in sub zero or near zero...you will no doubt have a tough time pulling and getting material stuck to them.

If this is the hardest lesson I learn this year, then I'd say I am doing alright
