Spare spool for spinning reel

Looking for a spare spool for my reel in the Edmonton area. Shimano 4000
Any suggestions?

The Reel Doctor should be able to hook you up.

I lost the little screw that keeps the handle on once and they found the part for me with no trouble at all.

You will need the model too not just the brand and size.

Getting spare spools is not as easy as it used to be and they are usually only offered for the higher end reels now. None of the local stores carry them, Fishin hole might be able/willing to special order you some or maybe The Reel Dr would be able to get some but those are likely your only local options. Searching on google, amazon and ebay are likely your best bets.

They’ll be able to get you one. They were $30-50 last I checked, depending on size and reel model.

Just order like you would parts and will get them. They dont come with the reels like the old days. Guys always ask how come I have 2 spools when they dont come that way any more.

Or put an add in the buy and sell. I am sure there are more then a few 4000 sizes reels out there that guys don't use anymore. Unless this is a new reel you need it for then I am sure older ones aren't compatible.

What’s a spare reel cost? I just wonder if it would Be cheaper to buy a second reeel.

That's why I buy the higher end plueger reels. they always come with an extra spool.

$15 to $1100.

I second the higher end pflueger reels. I’ll probably never go back to shimano

If anyone is looking for a spare spools for an older Shimano Stradic 1000 - FI or MgFB, I found three in my tackle drawer last night after reading this thread that no longer fit my new reels.

How recently did you receive an extra spool with a Pflueger reel? I remember that you used to receive an extra spool even with a mid range model like the President, but not anymore. In fact, the Supreme XT doesn't even come with an extra spool. The only higher end Pflueger is the Patriarch, which is $200 +

I have both a Supreme and Patriarch..... none came with an extra spool.

There we go. Didn't think so. Pretty bad when my regular President came with one five years ago (with a wooden handle). I worked Saturdays at WSS and the only reel I recall coming with an extra spool was the Shimano Sustain ($350).

I was gunna say I just bought a president and specifically asked if it came with a second reel and was told no, hardly any come with them these days.
