When you changed the rotor and "front brakes" I hope it included the caliper.
I would try to polish the Aluminum as the dust probably hit the rim at a very high temp so its not just average dust.

I had that happen to my old 7.3 Ford. That rims finish was hooped. I tried polish etc. I could feel the bits of metal in the clear coat on the rim. That stuff just embeds into the wheel finish and then rusts a bit too.

You can have it re done at a wheel shop or find a used one. Some body shops might sand it down and re clear. Unless it's real minor, polish may not work.

Yup.
Sounds like your caliper piston was sticking. Hope you addressed that. Then, I would flush all that brake fluid out.

To clean you need Iron X don't look any further, it is specifically design for that purpose, safe on wheels and paint you just need to follow the instructions on the label.

You can get this at Autoobsessed in Edmonton.
