Default Sapper Steve Marshall

5 years ago today Canada lost a hero, Sapper Steven Marshall. He was a man of morals, honour, and loved his country. His humorous antics, and always positive outlook was infectious to everyone he met. I miss ya buddy..
Please take a moment of your day to remember his sacrifice he made for this country.
Rest EZ we've got it from here brother.image.jpg

-The hero sees value beyond what's possible. That's the nature of the hero. It kills him, of course, ultimately. But it makes the whole struggle of humanity worthwhile - john gardner

Chimo.

Pardon my ignorance and truly no disrespect meant, but what is a sapper? Nevertheless, much grateful for not only our fallen soldiers, but our live ones as well.

No ignorance friend. A Sapper is a military engineer. Duties are but not limited to building bridges, roads, clearing land mines and explosives. Steve was lost after insurgents detonated an IED he was reviewing.

Thanks for the info. Hunter. May Steve Marshall rest peacefully and the glory of God's light encompass him fully. My thanks for keeping us Canadians strong and free.

Hunter:

How old was Steve when he died? He looks like a real young fella.

Thanks for letting us remember him today. That is really nice of you.

I will say a special prayer for Steve at our local cenotaph on Nov. 11.

Take Care.

And what does "chimo" mean if it is "clean"?

Hi Grey,

Steve was 24 when he passed, and thank you to those who took a moment of your day to remember him as He was my closest friend, means a lot.
In regards to Chimo, it's a greeting / toast/ well wishes used from one Engineer to another, typically you use it instead of " see ya later ".

Chimo!

Hunter, my respect, admiration and sincere thanks for your service to our great nation. I will say a special prayer of thanks for your fallen friend and comrade on the 11th.

Godspeed Sapper Marshall
