Most of my success in Ft Mac has been with big streamers, catching pike or walleye. It's a good idea to use at least an 8 weight rig. personally, I like a streamer line with a slow sinking tip. Presentation doesn't seem to matter. Just slap the water with a big fat streamer, tied on with a short metal leader. I usually fish the Clearwater, the Athabasca, and lakes like Gregoire. I've also been out to Engstrom lake with a lighter rod, and caught the stocked rainbows from a kayak. I haven't had a lot of luck getting grayling from the Horse, House, and Hangingstone rivers, but they're in there!!
