That's what happens when you take the first 20 minutes off sloppy and sloppier

Default Troy Stecher

Oiler acquire defenseman Troy Stecher and a 7th from Coyotes in return a 4th round draft pick.

Good enough to help strengthen the D? Not so sure.

Terrible on the back end tonight, ugly. On that one goal though, it should have been an icing call yet still, play to the whistle.

Complete game today, first one on this road trip Pikkard get the SO, the 3 points out of a possible 6 against teams that are all out of the playoff picture is just ho hum, those were big points to leave on the table.

We should trade Brown for Markstrom.
And should we need a goalie he can play that too.

Certainly possible. 8 points out of the lead and everything else being equal, Oil have played 2 fewer games than Tampa and Colorado.

They did that to MaDavid too. I think last season, when he took an awkward fall after a hit.

It's a fun race to watch. My first though is "of course he will, he's only 8 pts back", but then MacKinnon has 10 pts in his last 3 games. And he plays the Flames tonight, probably good for at least 4 more...

I'll likely be the odd man out here but I'll say he passes Kucherov but finishes second to MacKinnon.

Is that what made this the tie game for the Oilers based upon when they have had a duo goalie game that they won in a shoot out? Announcer said last and only other game that happened was Fuhr and Moag in net.

Was there even shoot outs during the moog/fuhr era? Not sure I’m following sun.
Do you mean besides being in a shootout?

You are confusing "shoot out" with "shut out" Pickard had the leave for 2 minutes at the end of the 2nd period for concussion protocol, skinner came in therefore it was a joint "shut out" between Pickard and skinner

Skinner closed the door tight after the first 2 shots went in the boys got things rolling in the 2nd and third, and Brown got a goal happy for him, he's a hard working son of a gun

The blues did us a favor and beat the kings,

It was a good game but a fair bit of sloppiness in puck handling and passing to clean up. I think it’s expected as there has been a fair amount of new blood added.

What I noticed big time was the forecheck and perfectly executed active sticks. When pucks were turned over, active sticks more often that not broke up a risky play.

Bouchard had some good moments but also at times seemed out of sorts, rushed and made bad moves and bad passes. He needs to sharpen up play considerably and he will shine.

There are a number of exceptionally hard workers on the Oilers such as Hyman. That guy continues to amaze.

IF the Oilers continue to improve they are Stanley cup contenders this year. It would be a rags to riches story after clawing up from the basement.

To be fair, he’s played 10 more games than markstrom. Call it a wash.

Sure felt like a playoff game last night, wish we could have got the extra point, had some chances but never buried them, back and forth fast hockey, great game.

The Preds, Capitals and Stars all did us a favor last night, thanks boy's

Edge to Avs but felt Oilers were right there last night. Was a beauty of a game. Avs are the team to beat for the cup they are absolutely stacked.

What a way to end a game that the team and the fans really wanted.

Dri was lazy coming back and let his guy get away. The loss is on him. He cheated the team and fans out of a chance to win and send a message.

Bouchard played MacKinnon to rim it around. What was he thinking? There's no time left on the clock?

Well Montreal gave them all they could handle, they are young and fast an won most of the puck battles, we'll take the 2 points and move on and move on to the Sabers

This shoot out crap is not right ,so many teams at 10 minutes left if it's 3 3 they all wait for the final over time and shot out . Play till sudden death ,then you will see who wants to really win .If you bet so many are lost over this ,Edmonton took a two goal lead and let of the gas ,once tied it was going to be over time . Love the hard core battles in the last 10 minutes ,nice to have thriller instead of a shoot out ,that's boring.

I really like Edmonton ,even Calgary beat Montreal 5 2 ,but they kept the pressure on .

Some say it rests there better players ,there paid big bucks to play at there peck all the time so let them play.

Think I was hoping for 10 nothing over Montreal ,but didn't happen.

My rant sorry guys ,If your having problems with Montreal ,the big guns are watching .That's way more dangerous then a shot out .Plus fans want risks and crazy plays for the entertainment part there paying for.

Hope they play better ,i'm cheering them on.
