Default Fishing in Southern Alberta?

Hey everybody, I might be moving to the Lethbridge area in July and I was wondering what the fishing is like down there. I've been living in Yellowknife for six years hooking pike and lakers with a five of diamonds spoon and I'm hoping I can catch fish somewhere in the area without a fly. Is the fishing pretty slow through July and August? Thanks in advance.

Great fishing area, everything from perch to lake sturgeon in the area. Lots of excellent lakes and great river fishing as well. Also close to the mountains for a change of pace.

There is a ton of places to fish around here.

You can fish the river right in the city with lures or bait. You can also fish the ponds around the city for trout, pike, and some have perch.

There there is more places then you can imagine to fish for pretty much every species in Alberta except arctic grayling with in an hour and a half drive or less.

You are going to have a ton of exploring to do when you get down here to find your own little favorite spots.

If you want to get out on a boat and chase walleyes when you get down here let me know. I spend most of the open water season doing that whenever I can get away from the city.
