Depending on what I'm fishing for and the way that I'm fishing, I'm going to have to say when the fish is hitting my bait and I'm concentrating on the right moment to hook him.

The moment the sun rises and i realise i'm the only person around for miles, sometimes the anticipation is as great as the act itself, nothing beats the commencement of a new and unknown adventure.(except for all of the poll options)

I live in the moment...

In many cases when fishing with a fly the moment for me is when the trout slurps the fly down....

or when spinner fishing when you feel the tun-tunk-tunk of a solid take...

then that moment is extended with the fight of the fish until it is landed... the further I get into it I know the moment is bigger when you lose the fish and you have the letdown... then you realise how big the moment really was...

Every fish and type of fishing is different... when fishing for Bull drum down in Texas the moment is when you finally horse it ti the top and get to see it...

then it turns into a bull shark which was way cool!...

When is the moment ?

The moment is when your Bait clicker is clicking and your rod is bent in half , and the sturgeon you just hooked into is swimming down stream .

The moment you feel that tug and your imagination runs wild as to what fish is on the end of that line!

No actually this is the north shore of Fawcett lake. Jig with a small minnow sitting near the bottom and jigged every once in awhile.

Default moment

The moment I have the fish in the boat and my wife has to remove a piece of clothing....it's a private little game we play while fishing. If you think fishing is boring just try it...

Sometimes there is a moment just before THE MOMENT. As long as there isn't a premature jerk.

When you can see your line moving ever so slowly, yet you feel nothing even with the lightest of rods.

Now that's when you know she is gonna get exciting real quick.

So what your saying is "Fishing the NSR is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get"?

how do i get in touch with your wife!

when you head out and the lake is flat calm. the first cast. the first follow up and you see that beautiful big fish. then first hit. the first good long pull, the first big headshake, the first time you see her come up.

but actually landing the fish and then letting her go really isnt that much of a moment. its more of the finish.

Id say the moment is when you take a kid fishing for their first time and when they hook into their first ever fish, the smile on their face makes the expense of fishing all worth it.

yep, every time I take a kid out for the first time, I buy a rod, box and some tackle for them, it's theirs. Makes it more special. Or adult with the first fish on a flyrod, it's always the most genuine smile or laugh i've ever seen.

For me, some of my best moments were releasing a fish, knelt down in the river supporting a brown, bow or atlantic salmon, waiting for them to swim off.

I would have to agree fully, my son still beats me up about his big bow that was way bigger than any of mine..although it was a stocked dugout and they were the size of footballs..... That was 2yrs ago, now he won't stop bugging me about next weekend, got him hooked on eyes now, and he's only 9....and he will probably get biggie of the day as well, and I'll owe him two bucks for big fish lol...
