At least 2 more weeks unless the mercury drops to -20 overnight consistently.

Not soon enough
I believe it will be the end of the month before I attempt to drill a hole! Not soon enough for me, I want to hard water it up right now!

Chain lakes has a thin layer closer to shore, middle is open. Spray lakes has a thicker layer closer to shore then thins out to the deep blue.
Heard clear lake has a thing layer almost all the way out.

The lake we are on had a thin layer out 100 feet in spots. The wind picked up yesterday and took care of that though.

Can't wait either, many preparations are underway for this season. Super Mobile is the goal.

I went out to a local trout pond this afternoon. There is definitely a layer of ice on there - about an inch. I'm 280lbs and walked around the shore. Only if I started jumping around would the ice break. I'll check back again on the weekend.
