Default Members of this forum

Posted in the anti-peeve thread "many members of this forum", but figured it was worth it expending on it a bit. So...

Members of this forum who go over what a person would usually do to help out others. I had another one of these encounters today, well over the past couple of days, really. Bet many new users do not realize what goes on via private messaging around here. I have helped out a few people with some advice about things I know about and wrote an essay or two to people I don't even know. However, the enormous amount of help I received from a few members on this forum is just priceless to me. It is just amazing when you post a question or a concern about something you are trying to figure out and all of a sudden there is a PM offering advice/help awaiting for you the next day, sometimes ongoing advice with some back and forth questions and answers.

So yeah, I just wanted to give a shout out to those guys who help one another. Keep it up guys! You guys are what makes this place great.

Of course this shout out also goes to those who simply reply without being a smart ass to people asking questions, no matter how silly or "common sense" a question may seem.

Cheers to all!

I've had nothing but helpful replies and PM's to questions I've asked in the forum. No matter what the subject has been I've been given some advice.
Overall it's a pretty good group of people here. (myself excluded)

A lot of good and very helpful people on here with loads of great stories and information to share with others.
Also a lot of fools with nothing better to than fight about nothing, over and over again.
It's just reality, the good people are all around you, it's just that they are a little harder to find and the fools make themselves very obvious. GN

Thumbs up

It's society In general....takes all types to make this place go around. Agree, disagree, still got people who will give advice and help, some we'll you know...I would categorize myself on both sides, depending how you take what I type but at the end of the day meh!

Great forum though!

I have met some fantastic people on this forum.

I have found this place to be a great resource for information on outdoor pursuits. I've even learned a thing or two about non-outdoor stuff too!

Not only about the help that is freely given by many members here.
But the support and advice many receive when dealing with issues.
I could not believe the number of Pms of support and offers to talk it out I got after speaking of the medical
issue I was going through.
Agree to disagree on many threads, its all forgotten when you need help.
The best type of people here.

Very True OP. I wouldn't have got my first elk if it wasn't for some stand up AO members who I still chat with today. I give info on zones i know, experiences i have as others have done the same and helped me greatly.

Despite the and that can go on about topics that matter to people, when help is asked for, it usually comes in truck loads.

I have met some great people as a result of the forum, and I have met several AO members that I met in ways not associated with the forum. There are also several members that I have conversed with on the forum and outside of the forum that I have not met, but that I hope to meet in person some day. There is a lot of experience and knowledge in the AO collective, a person just needs to be able to decide which information he chooses to believe, and which information he chooses to dismiss.

The majority of the best information shared here on AO is through PM.
