Ladder stands are a pain to set up, take down, and store. For this reason lots come up for sale used even new in the box for fairly cheap compared to new. Most commonly available is the big game ladder stands like has been posted. They are comfortable but the seat is a pain to assemble

They work and will fit your needs but I still hate them. I wish I could teach my wife and brother to hunt out of hang on’s

If I was you I would get on Facebook and kijiji looking for the best deal on a two person stand. Buy it enjoy the hunting experience with your boy but over time you will likely hate dealing with the stand so keep cost down

Find the right deal and buy two single stands and set them side by side even

With young boys, I've switched all my stands to ladder stands -- most 2-man style. It's tight up there with someone else, but it gets them out in the woods with me and learning, which is #1.

When it's just me, they are the Cadillac. Tons of space, stable, etc.

I don't have to worry about theft or moving stands around, so I love ladder stands.

Perfect thanks for all the input! I have one single ladder and one hanger, i do prefer the hanger but for the two of us definitely think the ladder is the way to go for now! Thanks again!

Something we used to do is put up the ladderstand and then hang the hang on right beside it. We used to put a camera guy above (on the hang on) the shooter on the ladder. But could easily just do it right beside each other

I use a Millennium L220

https://millennium-outdoors.com/prod...v=7516fd43adaa

Also have the B1 Blind to go around it and provide some canopy shelter - kids move around and fidget a lot and it will help conceal some of that movement.

Lots of room and solid construction so it does not make a lot of noise.

Anyways - yes it is big bulky and heavy but when hunting with kids off the ground that is the price of admission.

Use a Tree Spider Micro Harness and a live line for them as well.

Thumbs up

My next tree stands will be big for double occupancy, not so much for a snuggle buddy but to put my gear beside me.

Got a few singles and they work great but more room is better from my perspective.

Maybe turn it into kinda like a enclosed tree fort, use some of my ice fishing mats for the floor, hang burlap around the sides and have a overhead roof too

Small buddy heater on the floor for those long cold sits.

I gotta get back in the ice and think this out between bites.

I have about 15 ladder stands that I hunt out of the first ones I bought were singles I find they're too small even for one person with a pack the double Magnum stands or the way to go very comfortable can sit all day in them
