Default What's the story with Pole Haven?

I hear there are lots of bears in that country, both kinds and I'm thinking about taking the ole 270 for a hike in May. Self guided of course.

Is there a story about this place that everyone but me knows about?

Is this part of the WMU used by any guides at all? Just wondering if this will limit chances of getting access.

There are no guides that own any rights there. Some may think they do, but they don’t. It’s big country though and you will be hiking a long ways.

Spent a lot of time there as a kid. Vehicle access was allowed back then as it was being logged off and on. There is no longer vehicle access allowed. Lots of bears in that place.
