Default First time shooter! Browning or Benelli?

Hey I'm a new shooter and looking to buy my first 12 gauge. I've looked at a bunch of guns and have narrowed my choice down to the Browning BPS Hunter or Benelli SuperNova. I'm a lefty, and the BPS Hunter is supposed to be a good fit because of the bottom ejection and safety on top of the gun, but the sales associate at the gun counter said that there may be jamming issue with the bottom ejector if you cycle too quickly. I don't mind shells flying across my face, but the Supernova is a lot more $$$. Has anyone had any issues with the BPS Hunter? If so, I think I'll go with the Benelli, but a gun good for a southpaw would be nice. Any advice?

Both are great guns, the sale associate is misinformed or ingorant or maybe both. However If I had to choose between the two considering price and ejection I would go with the BPS. I've seen both the Benelli and Browning used on here a few times.

I have the SuperNova and it's a nice shooting gun. I'm not a lefty, though, so I can't comment as to how it will handle for you. Whereabouts do you live?

Cool, I think I'll go with the BPS then! That's the one I actually wanted to go with from the start. Thanks!

I guess you can't always trust the guy behind the gun counter, nice to hear about people who actually use the gun and have good feedback.

X2 lefty also, put a lot of shells through that gun 23/4" and 3" and never had a problem, as an aside the browning has the safety tang on the top of the reciever ala O/U so it can go either way, I'm not sure where the safety is on the benelli but if it's hard to use the safety left handed it would be a deal breaker for me.
