Default Skandic 550F

Has anyone ever been able to get the fuel rate down to an affordable amount on the earlier 550F's.??...2008...always been BAD, even on packed trapline trails, so no speed is ever used....
Would dearly like something else, unless I can remedy this situation....but with the price of beaver....haha

I’ve never messed with a carb on sleds but the benefit to those fan cooled machines is the ease with which you can work/repair them. The trade off is fuel mileage sucks!

The worse the fuel mileage the longer the 550 will last to a point Running lean kills them.

My old 550F Skandic SUV used to get about 140kms to a tank, I always carried a jerry.

You can improve mileage by leaning out the carbs but then you have to adjust for temp . This way correct jetting at -30 and horrible mileage at plus 10c .
