Have you ever had a coyote chase your vehicle?

While on my way to work this evening I seen a coyote alongside the ditch which didn't seem odd but when I drove past it it chased my truck. It took me about 50 yds to get stopped and figured I just shoot it. I got out of my truck to grab my rifle and the sob come at me before I could get my gun out lol. He circled my truck a couple of times until I drove a little further down the road. I managed to get my gun out and made acquaintances with him. Lol. Everything about him looked healthy. Weird or What?

It wasn't someone's dog by any chance, was it? Lol.

I have not had an encounter like this; they usually run away from my vehicle. When I walk in town it's a different story though. They followed me plenty. The "cutest" ones are the ones walking on the river (ice, obviously) as I walk along the dike. Sometimes we would play a game, such as I would stop and he would stop, I would sit and he would sit; if I stop for a long time, he would lie down and start yawning, etc. Then another one would join him, then another; then one would leave and a little later the other just to come back and catch up to us later. Most of the time it is just one dog that stays with me all the way, sometimes two. Only on two occasions I had three following me pretty much all the way. Nothing a guy can do in town and in the middle of the night though (like 11-ish usually).

Lol Bub my wife asked if it was someone's dog. Shouldn't be any dogs down the ftr that look 100% like a coyote.

I guess up the ftr for some. Kinda makes me wonder if a skunk might of got him because a couple of miles up the road it sure smelt skunky.

Rabies and weird or someone pet yote or dog.Don't let your dog lick up any blood or you may infect him and humans,don't let the blood onto your skin if you have a cut .

Food,people have been feeding him, more than likely.

Seen this in the oil patch with various critters running towards crew trucks etc
With the cold snap that sangy would be a nice filler, hold the mayo

I was out riding horseback with my wife and a friend one time, and a coyote came up and started barking at us. He would circle us a mere 10 feet away, barking and growling. This continued for a bit, until I decided to chase him, he didn't like the horse coming at him and took off. No gun, unfortunately...........

BUT.... BLAINE... I think you shot your neighbors Dog....................

in areas with lots of work happening these animals get fed. we have a handful at work that will dead run to your truck from a few hundred yards to 5 feet from the drivers door.

Had this one follow me around for about a hour on foot, would come as close as about 25 feet. No work camps in the area or work. Why don't know.

I was riding my bicycle from Medicine Hat to Echo Dale park along the river trail last summer, A coyote followed me for about 2 miles, I'd stop and He'd stop, I'd go and he followed, I was getting nervous.

wow that is a good looking coyote. They sure aren't that nice around here.

You guys have all the fun. I sure wish I could find some tame friendly coyotes. I would like to introduce them to my 22-250.

A rancher I knew dragged himself back to his yard with a broken leg 7 miles after a wreck on his horse I believe and had a yote follow him every half step of the way back ... as an aside I have had 2 full on charges by weasels in their winter prime while ditch walking for birds (no dog) & had a young weasel in N. Sask. this summer climb my pants up to my thigh before our eyes locked and he/she then dropped and ran

I literally had the same thing happen to me about 6 years ago. Had to drive a 100 yards Down the Field so I could get out and get him before he was at my truck again lol. Was a weird experience.

Lol. I didn't really know what to do except shoot it. It did kinda scare the **** out of me when he was lurking around my truck while I was getting my greeting prepared for it. Thought for a minute he might of wanted to bite me.

No experience like this with a coyote, but was opening a gate one summer eve when a badger came at me growling. I wanted to go through the gate but had to hoof it back to the truck pronto for the Greener, then went through the gate....
