Default Line counter reels?

Looking to possibly pick one of these up, don't mind spending some cash on a good one. What's everyone using?

Just putting line on a bunch of Okuma LC's. Not sure how they will work out, but have a bunch of abu's (electric/battery) too. Like em. Daiwa good also.

I have the okuma magda pro 30, I really like the reel, I use it on my bigger pike rod that I use for trolling, and when I use my planer board, I like the fact I know how far to the side I am and how far behind the boat I am....I think I paid 45 bucks at the fishin hole for it...

Okumas are great trolling reels for the price - I bought my first one when the salesman explained to me that it was cheaper than trying to put a line counter on my ambassadeur.

Okuma Magda Pro - I have two of them on my downrigger/dipsy/planner rods.

They are, without a doubt, the best value out there. I use these rods maybe 10-12 times a year and have used them for the last 4-5 seasons without an issue.

If I lived on a big lake and was downrigging/dipsying or planning all the time, maybe I'd get something a little better - but they have been great.

No complaints - outstanding values at about $60 bucks or so.

I'm thinking of doing one more set up for Kokanee specific and using the smallest Okuma Magda Pro on a light power, medium action 8'-6" for trolling.

Both my set ups are a little stiff (good for lakers and gerhard rainbows) but tough for smaller fish.

Another vote for the Magna.

Can't beat the price, and the performance is great.

I love my new okuma cold water reel. I got the 203DLX and it works great trolling for lktr or even casting heavy lures for big wab nrpk, and it comes in left hand retrieve.

I tried the Okumas because the price was right. I just managed to sell the last one of them this year. They're OK, but once you've tried the Shimano Tekota, there is simply no comparison. The Tekotas are bulletproof all metal construction, they will last you a lifetime and you'll pass them on to your kids. They are incredibly precise and smooth to operate, and the drag system on them is the BEST drag I have ever used.

They aren't cheap, but they're worth every penny. Buying the Shimano Tekota 500LC once is cheaper than buying two or three of the others reels first before you end up buying a Tekota anyway and being done with it. Trust me, I speak from experience lol.
