DARN! Those are some nice pics guys. I have only started looking seriously this spring and haven't found any yet. I have some great locations where I have seen some big racks on a regular bassis, but even on Friday, March 11 the bucks still haven't shed their horns.

Been out every weekend since mid December. Moose have been dropping since December.found a dozen fresh moose and over a dozen old whitetails. And only one fresh whitetail. As of yesterday mules are still holding which isn't unusual. But I've seen more fresh whitetail rubs than ever before.they're trying to get the antlers off.just ain't falling.
Found this nice moose set as well,a mile apart.

I have found no fresh sheds yet other then a couple moose paddles, found this guy the other day though. He didn't appear on camera in 2015 so knew something was up.

18KM Saturday. Empty handed on my best property last year. Trailcams show small whitetails carrying on the 8TH and shed by the 10th.
Did not see any deer carrying this weekend where as 2 weekends ago I saw multiple deer with both. The deer on camera have antlers that look a 2 years old they are so white.
Will give the property a real good look once more later in the year. Here is to hoping.

Went out this weekend in Central AB. I would say half the bucks are packing (mule deer). Saw two different bachelor groups of bucks, all with antlers. Found 4 fresh mule deer antlers, one still had blood on it. Also saw spooked 2 bucks, with one having blood running down his face because he had just recently shed... of course couldn't find his shed!
One or two more weeks should be prime time

2016 Shed Thread
Nice pictures guys, I was able to get out yesterday for a few hours and find one. This was roughly 75 yards from where I found the other one last year. Lots of sign of bedding down, hair and pellets. Area is Strathcona County between Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park. Keep the pictures and stories coming.

I have been finding alot of hair as well in beds. as in so much hair I looked for skeletons. Are they blowing their winter coats already?

Appears so. I've seen quite a few dozen who look like they're patchy. Started to change to the lighter brown hair.

This explains it perfectly... Let's just say I would bet the farm that it's a fellow on his walk to his home close to chiniki village from a night partying in town, tough to hitch a ride that time of night.

Lucky Today
Went out for the afternoon to do some shed hunting and had a banner day with 6 WT and a moose shed. One antler had a 26 inch main beam.

Hey antler you have any other picture of the shed in the middle. Looks really unique, and the mass on the base looks huge. Thanks

Sheds
I've found one fresh Wt set, 3 fresh Wt singles and an old Wt so far this year. Northeast Alberta, if that matters. I also saw a Muley buck with both antlers yesterday.

These were actually my first sheds found this year..while shutting down a loop of my trapline in late January. First time ever where my 1st deer sheds of the year were from a mulie and not a whitetail. I was originally going to post these in the trapping section as these shed pics were just a small portion of my day's activities but I just never got around to it...
I actually saw the 2 bucks pictured as I was leaving the offloading area. I snapped a couple quick pics because the whitefaced one looked to be a mature, "already shed" buck...which in late January, is early for mule deer in my area. So I continued on, did my thing, started the return portion of my loop back towards the truck, and as I got a few hundred yards from where I had earlier seen the deer...I could see tines sticking out of the snow. Obviously, based on the proximity to where I saw the shed buck, I assumed these were his.
