Default Eagle lake

Has any one been as of late? I was hoping to get the boat launched this weekend and figure out my new toys!

Considering the lake is closed I certainly hope no body has been out lately...

That said I can't imagine there'd be any ice left on it but I haven't been that way in a few weeks.

Closed to fishing yes, but is it closed to boating? Some guys have new boats / toys in the boat that they want to test before opening week, rather than driving 2/3 hours to find out something is not working right on opening weekend. Chestermere boat launch is closed till may long (cement blocks put infront of launch) so Eagle is the closest.

Unless you are planning on launching a tin 12 footer then let me know how it went.

I know I sure cannot get my boat in there. Better take it to Ghost to be safe.

Thanks Captain .i know it opens Thursday.
Hence the whole weekend thing. Just hoping some one closer thane has made a trip to check the ice situation

And ghost was still looking pretty solid as of Saturday don't think she will be cleared up for a bit yet.

And chestermere costs $$ to launch a boat. Not my cup of tea.

It's a 16' but I do believe i can get Er in. time will tell but I am determined to make it happen

You better have a 4x4 standing by with about 100 meters of rope to hook on to you and pull you back out of the mud.

You cannot back in deep enough to float your boat off the trailer any place I have seen and that includes the launch at the campground on the east side that they want last I heard 20 bucks to use.

Ain't worth messing up your truck boat or maybe both. Take the drive out to CV or Magregor but it is your call.

I sure would have enjoyed seeing that. Could not no matter what get my 16 Crestliner in there ever. I would have had to back so far in there was no way I was gonna get back out. Glad I checked the launch before I paid the guy.

This lake sucks for shore fishing So hard to get anywhere. The water was very muddy today too.

That said,

He was around 75-80 cm, measured quickly to make sure.

(this was before they were trimmed properly)

Good day out, despite the lack of places to fish from. Saw lots of boats out there.

The main diet in Eagle is the White Faced Chubb. Thus the colour of the skin as well as the meat.

The chubb is about 3 inches long and you can see them on your camera in the winter usually in 7 or less fow.

Caught this walley in 3ft of water opening day. I took a friend for a couple hours teaching her how to fish. She landed two pike both over 24". Great fun for a couple hours.
The walley was 60cm

havent fished eagle in along time but we used to fish it at night right now for walleye casting no more then 10 feet from shore on the old bern. dont know if you can fish after dark there now but if you can it should still be making walleye like the guys picture.

Wow,

Very interesting when your checking out some random posts on places you usually fish and you see yourself in the background of someone else's picture lol. Good for a laugh!
