Default End of open water fishing and a big thank you to all AO members

So yesterday was my last day of boat fishing till hard water season. This was the first season i was able to go fishing on a boat and was a total awesome season. Hard to go back to river and do the waiting game after catching tons of fish on the boat. Went to many different lakes, filled up my walleye tags, met some great people on the lake, and most of my first year success was from tips and help from this site and its members. Lurking around a lot, sending PM's, members providing spots on the lake to fish and other great info was much appreciated. Helped make the experience so much fun and memorable.

Even though the last day wasn't the best way to end the season. Cold, windy and lots of waves. It did give me at least 2 hours of sunshine and calm waters at the end of the day to finish off my season.

Here's the last pic I took right before docking and ending my season.

Hard water is still a ways off.

I usually do not cave in till sometime towards late October. I have a friend who keeps putting his boat in even if he has to break shore ice.

At least now you have time to get the boat properly winterized and stowed away.

Now to get to work on the winter gear.

Time to hit the trout rivers now! Just kiddin', there's still plenty of good fishing before ice comes on the lakes. In fact lakes with Lakers can provide great trophy fishing for those spawning trout.

Nice pic and a seemingly good ending but I see no reason to stop now There's always some open water somewhere in the province!
