Default Salmon Fishing Campbell River

Looking for 2 guys to partner with, that can help out with expenses from Edmonton that include, Travel (Driving), Fuel, Groc. and Lodging.
Also Bring your own booze and cooler.
Fish out of a 26' Ocean Boat and tow unit is a F350 Truck. Good set for a great trip.

5) Days of Fishing. Sept. 15-19 North of Campbell River.
Lodging in cabin at Brown's Bay if possible. Most likely stay in CR and Moor the boat at BB. Need to nail accommodations down yet. Otherwise It's a short drive from CR to BB.

This is not a guided trip, everyone to help out with all aspects.
ie.
- Rigging boat at arrival. approx. 1hr.
- Packing gear around. Luggage, Coolers, Groceries etc.
- Cleaning and Packing Fish. (I have a small Cryovac machine that works good)
- Rigging out Boat at end of trip and if available scrub the salt off. approx. 1hr.
When there are chores to be done everyone needs to participate to make it a good experience for everyone.

Figure cost ea. to be in the $8-1000 for the 5) days of fishing.

If Interested or would like to discuss further PM me.

BB is Brown's Bay.

Fishing been pretty good from what I hear. Early bites, tides and different locations. There around just might have to spend time finding them. A few Springs getting picked up and lotsa Sockeye. My plan is to hit the Northerns when they come through.

I just got off the water a couple hours ago. Been in Campbell River for the last two weeks. Flying out to Fort McMurray in the morning.

Fishing for Sockeye has been great. It's the best and latest running run I've ever seen for Sockeye. There's been the odd Coho and Spring around. Sockeye should be done by the time you plan on being here. There will still be the odd Spring around and the Chum fishing will be just getting started. Fishing for big Coho should be good as the Coho fishing around here has been excellent this year.

North of town in the Brown's Bay, Deepwater Bay, Greensea Bay area is where the best fishing for Northern Coho and the start of Chum fishing will be taking place.

I lived pretty much my whole life up until a couple years ago in Campbell River. This has by far been one of the best fishing seasons for the area in the last 20 years. You guys should have a great trip.

The only real disappointment this season has been right in front of town in the Tyee pool. Only 8 Tyees registered so far this year. May be a late run with the low water levels in the river. The Tyee club closes on September 15th and then the pool is opened up to power boats until the end of the month when it then closes to all fishing. It may work well for you guys if it is a late run so keep it in mind.

Default Browns Bay

Just got back from fishing BB. We fished it on Sept 1 and four of us limited out in eight hours. Went back up on Sept 5 to find that there were at least 12 commercial boats in the narrows. Fished for most of the day and caught 4. We fished sockeye so not sure how the spring fishing is. Hope the commercial boats move on before you get there and the numbers come back up. Good Luck

Northerns, Springs, Sockeye and Chum. Never knew what you were going to hook into. Worked the tides and that's when the Coho really turned on. Run into few hundred Porpoises looked as though they were feeding around us. Weather, scenery and water condition where awesome. A few foggy mornings but radar sure helps. And nothing like having a nice warm meal on the boat. Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner.

A few pics.
