I didn't go in personally but the water levels were pretty good when I was up there July long weekend. We drove past the staging areas and the parking lots were full so I imagine it was do-able to get through based on my years of witnessing the lake levels.

Hope this helps to some degree.

Not to derail the thread but just wondering if anyone has ever had theft issues at the North(Jackson) or South(Blackett) staging areas if they leave their vehicle/trailer there for a few days?
Never been in from the North but went in from the South a couple times years ago. We never had problems then but I’ve recently thought about going in again and the theft issue crossed my mind….

We’ve never had an issue nor has anyone I know that goes in there. That being said the area is bad for it so. Don’t bother going in on the south end it’s closed anyway I believe. The trail in the last time I took it was terrible with giant rutted out holes to sink a bike in or rip a trailer axle off. The Jackson trail is great you could drive a small car in there no problem.

Good to know, appreciate the information and response.
Good luck if you head in there….

We've staged at the South end numerous times in winter and summer with no issues. I agree with Snowman, the South trail is in pretty rough shape. Our group is well equipped for mud and it's still a tough 10 kms getting in. I've never done the north trail so can't speak to that.

Is the South trail still closed?

Yes the south trail is still closed. No work has begun on the trail.

3 weeks ago I had to drag a loaded canoe about 20 feet under the bridge. I only saw tinnets come through for fishing. No loaded boats with camping gear and I know they would have been dragging.
