What has happened at PCR?

I know the fishing was a bit off this past season, but the ice fishing is the worst I have ever experienced. Yesterday, first the gate is locked at the boat launch which is a good thing as there was only 6 to 8 inches of ice and it is not all that hard.

Drilled maybe 30 holes between 2 of us anywhere from 6 to 40FOW, nothing ever showed up on the sonars and only one small bite after 4 hrs., most likely a smallish trout by the feel of it.

Can't say what is going on at PCR but it is slow slow slow. Not in any hurry to go back just yet, maybe wait till mid Feb and hope for some spawning Burbs.

My guess.... the burbot were fished out long ago. The walleyes have been fished out given how easy they were to catch and the liberal retention limit that was given to them to make way for the trout that have been and will be put in. I wouldn't bother wasting my time there until there is some success with the trout stocking... but that's just me.
