Question Benelli R-1 Semi-auto

Does anyone own one of these rifles, or have you shot one? Does it live up to its billing for reducing recoil? I have a buddy looking at one with the comfortech stock. They seem pretty interesting, not exactly what I would be looking at if I was buying a new gun, but hey variety is the spice of life, right!

Any thoughts or especially experiances would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

My friend has one in 300 win mag, with a Zeiss 2.5-10x44. It still has quite a bit of recoil, shooting 180gr. bullets. Fairly accurate though. A bit over 1 MOA with factory ammo, 3 shot groups. I would say it kicks a bit more than my 270 WSM in a tikka T3 laminated.

I have one in 30-06 and I really like it. The only thing is that I don't reload and with factory ammo, I am getting little over 1 inch at 100 yards. Still in the kill zone but not as good as my Sako which gives in less then .5" at 200 yards.

For the recoil, the comfertech works really great. There are about 11 'cheveron' on the stalk that helps in reducing the recoil. Overall, really good rilfe for someone who has to take more then one shots or wants to do some pig hunting.

Check out this link.
