Default Gun Registry Poll

The MSN homepage Sympatico.ca has a question of the day poll whether the gun registry should be scrapped, so far the good guys are in the lead. Poll is down the right hand column. (link broken so as not to miff any powers-that-be)

60% - 17,076/28,460 are against the registry
35% - 9,961/28,460 are for the registry
5% - 1,423/28,460 don't know

Funny thing, though. It doesn't specify long gun registry, it just says federal gun registry.

The only thing I can see maybe needing some sort of restrictions on is Machine guns. Give the dealership the power to sell or not sell judging buy the character make up of the person. If some old timer walks in and says he wants a hand gun to shoot gophers then sell it to him. If a crack head or some G-unit guy walks in or some guy that cant speak the language and they want hand guns ad semi autos give them a stern Feck off!

No, it briefly dropped to 60/35/5, but has since bounced back up to 61/35/4. It updates every minute and you have to expect that some bouncing back and forth is going to happen. Most people are agreed, though, that $2B could be spent better elsewhere.

At this moment (18:11) out of 33,444 votes:

61% or 20,400.84 votes against the registry
34% or 11,370.96 votes for the registry
5% or 1,672.2 votes undecided

I like these numbers. If only they were scientifically valid.
