If they shoot well in your rifle why not.
If the half the price 180 PP's shoot better then why not them.

It is far better to determine an accurate load based on how it performs in your rifle, than making a loading choice based on how a loading performed in someone elses rifle.

110's

Every rifle is unique unto it's self, even consecutively numbered firearms may show Jeckle and Hyde load prefrences.

Bench time my man, bench time.

Any reasonable hunting weight will serve you well if you can do your part and put the pill where it counts.
Typically 180's and heavier are prefered in the 300 Win Mag, but dont snub a 165 either.
Perhaps shying away from poly carb tips would be my only suggestion, these bullets regardless of design internally, often leave some nasty entrance wounds, the critters die just fine, but lots of folks seem to consider the 2lbs of rib meat lost as excessive.

well put Dick Im fairly used to the loss you speak of
ive been using my 338 for a few seasons , I know ballistically a 338win and 300 mag are close but weights are different although im no engineer
nor a reloader i just bought the 300 because its lighter weight wise
and was looking for a rifle with an adjustable trigger my old rifle you had to pull and cough to let loose the bullet and hoping to get into distance shooting
a bit
