Why do you think he used a hockey stick? Because if he got in too close that robot would have kicked his azzzz!

Am I the only one that found that vid mildly disturbing? Its amazing how far things have come and its starting feel a little more terminatoresque than it used to when Roomba was the robot of the day. Many tech leaders have come out with significant concerns about AI. Unsettling. Do we really want to go there...

Unsettling is definitely the word to use. Could you imagine about 500 of them things coming down the street at you at night to "maintain the peace". The "peaceful demonstration" would evaporate pretty quick!

What a time to be alive! Very cool, but kind of scary at the same time.

That's exactly where this is headed, or foreign warfare or both. I remember one vid showing one of them following a person as he zigzagged back and forth. They called it a "follow the leader" demo... cause that sounds much nicer than "chase down and terminate."
This one's got some swagger though.

That is exactly where this is headed. To be blunt, most governments of today's world would love to have an army of these to 'take care of things'.
It is unsettling that we can watch this and be a little offended that a piece of machinery is being bullied. And that is how we will be taken advantage of. We are far too worried what those around us think of us to point where we care about a robot's feelings.
