Default Shed Questions for Builders & General Contractors

I was wondering if anyone here could help tell me if there are any applicable Provincial or National Codes for garden sheds and other accessory buildings less than 100 sq. ft.

I know some municipalities have their own guidelines (mine doesn't). But I am wondering if there are any actual building codes for them, provincially (Alberta) or nationally.

I want to put in a few windows, and maybe a loft for storage, and am familiar with most requirements for headers, beams, etc. I will insulate it, but it will not be wired for electricity. I plan on making it mostly out of pallets (except the raw lumber I need if I do a loft, and headers, corners, etc. There are lots of neat ideas online that I would like to try.

Thanks in advance, oh mighty AOF!

In Edmonton you don't need any permits for a shed under 109 sq feet Minimum 3' from neighbours and 2' from back alley
