Got my fish
Finally a member of the Tyee club.
Landed this 36 lb Chinook at 11 Am today just out of Sooke basin.
We had a 7 day boat rental and this was day 7. First 6 days we caught a few in the low teens but nothing really big until this guy hit the hook.
It did not take as long as I thought it would to land him, he fought for 10 min or so.
Thought it was maybe a 12 to 15 pounder for the first minute or so.
But when we saw him at about 8 yards out at the surface, the heart started pounding, and off he went peeling line.
Within 10 min he was in the net and hand shakes, well OK, some hugs too, ha.
