Just wondering if anybody knows when they are commercial fishing Snipe or Winagami... Would like to go buy some fish.

Thanks!

I could be wrong but I think that they shut most of the lakes around here down to the nets. Too many uninformed anglers taking thier limit of walleye three days a week all year and complaining about the commercial fisherman ruining the fishery I think. If anyone can tell me I'm wrong about the lakes being closed I would like to take my boy out fo him to see how they do it.

Here is the link to the esrd website. Open the commercial fishing season pdf and it will tell you every lake that is being netted and when.

A couple questions come up when I read the PDF....
I see that some lakes are listed that have heavy metal warnings these warning state for some lakes ....moose for example that women should not consume fish from these lakes....are these fish when processed in some way noted to a consumer?

Also I really am confused how many of these lake can have substantial walleye quotas yet they are zero retention for sport fisherman these seems wrong to me!

Thanks alot!! I remember seeing a thread early fall last year that said they were going to fish it... Oh well. I remember as a boy pulling nets with commercial fisherman, what an experience!
