Default Perch in/around Calgary

Just wondering if anyone has even been attempting chestermere or the glenmore res for perch. would like to take a couple kids out for a little fun catching some little fish. I know pike is the norm in both lakes but there is supposed to be perch in both. if not, anywhere else in/not too far from calgary that are not community lakes?

I'm not sure about carburn, i hear they are in there but never been. Used to be perch in Chesterslough though I haven't seen any in years the times I've been there. Don't know about Glemore.

The question you should ask yourself, where not to far from Calgary is there a lake to launch your boat that isn't a shallow slough or a trout pond? The reason there is no perch because there isn't any lakes near by. And the popular ones are fished out.

The closest lake with perch to Calgary that are catchable are pine lake, sylvan lake, burnstick lake with sometimes some in travers, newell, crawling valley. Unforuntatley around Calgary there are no other options. Although they all fish tough in open water season.

Or make friends with someone in Midnapore or Sundance as those private lakes have perch in them.

Drive a little further to Enchant, millions of the things. And a beach, playground and icecream for the kids. You have to try hard "not" to catch perch, just cant keep them.
