tried it once last week, by the boat launch was over 12". I could only be there from about noon to 5 and had no action and spent most of the time making sure my shelter didnt cave in from the wind.

Assume by AthB. If it is like any other lake in the area, yes. Lots of cold this month should make lakes a little better for travel.

Good solid 18 to 20 inches of ice at a lake by Carson Pegasus yesterday. Beautiful day on the ice and the fishing was good as well.

Default Mcgregor

Fished Mcgregor today, solid ice, 18"+ where we were, and it was solid ice in 8fow. Fished 8-17' only caught 2 little pike, off a jig and minnow.

Lots of drifted snow, I drove a small SUV on.

Default Wabamun

22 inches just off the main pier in town about 300-400 yards from shore on New Year's Eve , lots of aggressive walleye, but not so much with the pike, just came in, stared at the lure for a bit then wandered off. Great day to be out!

Default Wabamun

Have been hitting Wab in the afternoons..... have been getting big pike 3-4pm on anchovies and large herring. Got a 20lb Dec.29th and a few just shy of the 20lb mark. Did lose one that felt way bigger than 20lbs. I know there are plenty of frustrated people with Wab... i was myself, but none of these fish were skinny and had large healthy bellies on them... even the smaller ones had big bellies. Fishing east side of lake, caught nothing but skinny pike and small wally on west side of Wab.

Seems like since walleye have been heavily introduced that fishing has changed for the worse. I'm sure just need to find them all over again. Been a year or so since I seen 20plus pounds come out of wab. Hope to hear more good stories and pics to reassure us that wab is still full of life and doing well with the big girls

18 inches of ice. You can drive out to the ledge - however heaves prevent from driving too far north.

Grandview has a big heave fairly tight to shore - saw one truck drive over it but being a chicken - sh*t - no thanks.

Wondering what the ice cover is like. Is it off, or partially off yet?
