Default Beaver Pelt

I'm looking for a tanned beaver pelt to make gloves out of. Or and old jacket that I could take apart.
Other furs might work too.
If you know where I could find one, let me know.

Thanks

Default beaver

Go to someplace like value village they always have lots of old fur jackets and cheap too. While you're there buy a wool blanket and "felt" it to make the mitt liners out of. You'll have the warmest mitts you can imagine. You can also go to the buckskin trading company and buy tanned furs. I got some of their rabbit furs for a buck and a half (I think )

How do you "felt" a wool blanket?

Default felting

You wash it in really hot water and tumble dry on high heat. It'll shrink and get nice and tight and thick. Then you can cut out the mitt liners and sew them together. Because of the shrinking the blanket or sweater if that's what you used won't fray. Search the net for better instructions.
