Default Prospectors of Gold...why do we do it?

Something to help keep us prospectors inspired...

I think I need to go metal detecting in Californee' .....but I am also a firm believer there are precious things still to be found closer to home. In BC more so than Alberta but you never know where things are until you find them.....

dare to dream..

I wish I had more time in the summer to metal detect and prospect. Past couple years I found a few things that are alright but the only precious metals I found are a few modern coins. Also a folding knife that I cleaned up and added to my detector bag, a couple fishing lures, and lots and lots of bottle caps, cans, foil, pop tabs. Still, a lot of fun though.... I don't think my gold pans have been out for a few years however. Poor things, all cooped up in that back pack.

There was a video posted on the prospecting forums of a guy panning in a creek in Australia and his camera is on a tripod and he's facing it, talking and panning and this hermit or some other weirdo sneaks up the creek with a huge knife, and at the last moment the prospector seems him and runs off. Of course they have stupid gun laws and can't carry like we can.

Cause nothing beats washing rocks all day! I'm still looking for that Alberta nugget or at least what I can call a picker.
