I guess the only difference being the Oilers started out playing crappy, and played crappy for most of the year are now playing really well.

The Flames started out well, played well most of the season and now are playing really crappy.

Yeah they are. 1 had an awful year and is showing character and resiliency with a strong finish.

As an Oil fan I'm glad they didn't pull a shameful move and tank for a high draft pick but it's tough to watch.

The other team had a great year and just sort of coasted to nowhere. They just watched their playoffs slide away and bent over and took it.

I know which team I'd want my son to play for.

Don't the Oilers usually "show their character" by going on a tear once they are officially eliminated?

Left the game at 2nd intermission...What a joke that game was....

At least the flames play hard...

Lucic was the biggest disappointment tonight....Why he is in the NHL still is a mystery......

Play Hard???!!!!!..the whole team folded like a cheap suit when Smith went down and then decided they wouldn't show up for the last 20 or so games so they could get rid of their coach because the big meanie yelled at the little darlings, sorry I have no use for those over paid louts only showing up on pay day.

1 goal and 7 assists for lucic since Christmas.. even though his buyout cap hit is enormous they have to get him off the roster.

And both teams will be golfing when the real teams start the playoffs. It doesn't matter when you lose, if you don't make the playoffs.

When you focus just on him it is really awful. Why did they keep playing that plug with McD? Trying to drive up his stats to hopefully pawn him off on someone??!! Since McD and RNH have been playing together, they have been magic....
To many poor decisions from trades and acquisitions, to game time line combos.

Up 3-0 to lose 7-3? You guys definitely didn't bend over.

Unless your son works really hard and goes number 1 in the draft, I don't think he will get to play on the Oilers.

And I'm definitely not saying the Flames are anything to chirp about. I'm glad it's still snowing here. When the season is over and the golf courses aren't open, they can sit in the corner and think about what they did.

With the money these guys make they won’t be sitting in any corners, get on the plane and head off to any golf course they want, where it never snows
They’ll be like Iginla, can’t get out of here fast enough

20 or so games? Not likely and if you follow the flames before there demise you would see the work ethic from the Flames compared to the Oilers...Pretty big assumptions you are making that they are tanking to get rid of Gulitzan

Spoilers folded like a cheap suit 20 games in

It appears we have located another Shames fan with hurt feelings.

You'd think after nearly 40 years of constant disappointment you'd be a little calloused by now.

Well there was that one year they were good.

Just to clarify I was saying you should be used to disappointment after almost 40 years of it. I'm well aware the Oilers hsve been awful for a decade. I still watch with my son. He loves them too.

And yep definitely a Shames fan looking for a hurt feelings report

Both teams failed this year. Battle of Berta goes to oilers. Scoring race oilers. Tough guy square off, oilers.
The end.

Sure, but find me an NHL team that has had just as many first rounders and didnt develop squat from those first rounders in a 10 year span like the Oil Stains.

Totally squandered...
