Default How much do you use your boat?

So how often does everyone here get out of their boats?

Except for this year, because I was extremely busy at work ..... I am out at least once a week (often for a few days at a time on trips a few times a year) from May until October.

In 2014 I likely spent 70-90 days out on the water - (that summer was slow at work).

I am planning to retire in the next 5-6 years, long before I reach 50, and plan on spending every day I can in the boat. Will likely move to a lakefront home somewhere and spend the days just enjoying the water and sun.

I just checked my fishing diary and it looks like I was out 23x. My goal is 35x a summer, no I just have to convince the damn southern Alberta wind to co operate.

Which one, the big boat or the smaller one?

This year I didn't take the big boat out at all, but I used the smaller boat a fair bit. Just not near as often as I'd like to.

I made several trips to my local lake. Local for me is about two hours away.
And I used it on Great Slave when we were up there.

That's about normal usage for me. As often as not I go with my kid brother and use one of his boats.
I don't have a boat appropriate for salt water and he does so we always use his boat when we go to the coast, which is once a year if we can.

Just a quick count and looks to be around 70 days out in the kayak with hopefully a few more to go.

18' open bow ski boat........15 times

Dang, I don't get out much! LOL

I'm over the hill I guess. I have two boats and a canoe.

I used the canoe three times, on my dugout water supply, servicing it.

I had my boat out about six or eight times as I recall, and fished from the shore at the river another six or eight times.

That's not a lot for a guy who has nothing but time.
I thought I'd get out more when I got my pension but I'm busier now then I was when I worked for a living. Go figure!

Use it so much lately I should sell it.

Went on my June week long fishing trip where I had it on the lake 4 or 5 times and then went to Wabamun once after that then used it twice in September.

Be retired by January 2018 if all goes well and then plan is to head to NW Ontario from May long to end of August so will get quite a few days in it then again as in previous years used to spend a couple of days a week on the water plus 2 or 3 weeks of vacation time as well.

Depends on how much you run your trolling motor, a buddy of mine fished 2-3 times a week since April, he burned less then a full 26 gallon tank.

No trolling motor on my jet boat. It's 4000rpm+ any time I go anywhere. More than $1k of fuel a year.

Used our boat twice this year.
Once for tubing camping with the family.
Once wife and I relaxed and fished.
Before we moved to Alberta, used the boat at least every weekend.

I had a rough year. Moving twice, buying a house and renovating it allowed me to get out about 20 times and trying to get out one more time or weekend.

Hopefully more next year and going to start tournament fishing
