Default Lac la biche lake.

Merry Christmas everyone! Has anybody been to Lac la biche lake lately? I’m wondering how access is on the lake, and if people are having a tough time getting around with all the snow. Thanks for the replies, have a fun and safe holiday season.

Haven't been since Dec 8th. At that time there was 13-16 inches where I fished. Multiple large heaves in the West basin made access difficult at the Old Trail Launch and near the Mission. Not sure if any of this has been ironed out. I have not been to Poplar nor SWC. At the time there was little to no snow. No idea how much is there now. I would assume there will be some surface water. East side had no obvious heaves in the Golden Sands area but that could have all changed with the colder weather.

Always assume flood water. With the amount of heaves there will be floodwater, difficult to predict where it is. Make sure you are skilled at how to get out of those situtations, especially when it is cold

I bet it’s tough getting around with all this new snow in the past couple of days. Truck access must be limited. Does anybody know when the ice road is going to be put in?

I was there a couple days ago. Lots of big heaves on the east side of the lake. Fair bit of snow and some flood water in spots. There were trucks driving on a short distance from the north side where the ice road starts/ends. I didn’t go out that far past Black Fox Island so can’t confirm the ice road status, but I didn’t see anyone driving across the main lake.

Fishing was slow but a couple decent eyes. Even caught a tulibee.

There are ton of them in there, always see them cruising on the flasher half way up. We caught a few last year just for poops and giggles during the mid day doldrums

How do you catch them? Same as fishing for whitefish?
