Great Horned Owls
Just got back my owls from Ben at Art of Taxidermy.
Thought I would share these pics.
Thanks Ben for an unbelievable job.

Very cool. My wife and I were backpacking a few weeks ago in K country, and right around 12:30am as we were getting ready to head into the tent we kept hearing this weird hissing / screaching noise that was rather unsettling.
Had the good flashlight out and searched the trees and turned out to be a big ole owl saying hi to us.

How did you get the owls? I thought hunting them was not permitted?

Thank you for all the comments.
I just want to clarify that I found both of these owls just North of Taber within a week of each other. They had probably hit either a power line or were struck by vehicles. However, because it was the winter they were frozen and in good shape. I had to take them to Fish and Wildlife and waited on a permit to get them mounted.
If you have birds at Art of Taxidermy, you will not be disappointed with Ben's work.
PS I had to wait 2 years for mine to get back but it was worth the wait.

I am no taxidermy expert, but these are absolutely fantastic. Wow. The technical work, the realistic posing, the whole shebang. Wow.
