Default Spring Bear Sightings

Hey guys. Getting excited for bear season. Just wondering if anyone is seeing them out and about in their travels. Certainly not looking for anyone's spot, as I have my own, just whether or not any of you guys who travel during the week are seeing bears out munching on the newfound greenery.

Good hunting everyone!

Seen a nice bear up north of ft Mac last night on way back to camp. He was having a snack on the pipeline.

A buddy did first bait check last night, bumped a bear off when he walked in. Setting our baits April 29th as one month of baiting is hard enough.

Was out for a 4 day back pack hunt in the south west...wrong time and place but its what work would allow so I took it. No bear of either kind; one old bear scat. Lots of other wildlife which was fun, elk, moose, more deer than I could shake a stick at. Shut the trip down early due to 6" of snow overnight on unmaintaned rosds...it was a fun drive out.

Cool Porcupine Hills

Spent a couple days out in Porcupine hills last week, no sightings and only a couple tracks, nothing major yet, probably not quite green enough yet.

We set our bait on April 4th.
First hit was late on April 20th.
Steady action including last night.
Re-baited this morning.

I can not wait for this terrible weather to be done and the sun come out and start greening things up. Looking forward to getting out for bear, hopefully try out some new areas this spring.

Contemplating whether to get a tag, haven't seen much out here in the Peace River area either, but the weather has been pretty crappy... keep up with the sightings, it's great to have a resource like this around.

I've had my baits out for 4wks in carrot creek. Nothing has shown up yet, did a 20km check of frequently used areas last night and no sign anywhere. Have heard of a few to the west of Edson though
