Default Occupy protests

Someone said that a few sites have been visited at night by people with infrared cameras...only to note that most tents are empty. Just killing grass to make a statement.

wonder if that is true.

Now that winter is hear...does anyone really believe someone is in those tents...except the odd drug addict or violent person banned from a shelter?

Apparently infra-red sensors were used by police during the night in the 'Occupy' protest in Britain, and the empty tents removed. I haven't heard of that tactic being used elsewhere.

I'm all for a true protest but I became quite angry last week when a protester in Calgary complained that the FREE FOOD provided by St Mary's Parish was substandard and not enough,, Exsqueeze me?? What?? What did he just say?? Come again??

If you want a tent city fine,, if you want to protest fine but if you want a tent city under the guise of a protest, well get your priorities straight,, the protest is about an out of control financial center not about homelessness, even though the former has caused the latter stateside, it's still not what the protest is about.

,,,, "The Free Food was substandard",,, there are working poor who rely and more than usually volunteer with the food bank after receiving a hamper,, I almost put my fist through the TV screen and thought about heading down to the impromptu tent city and having a word with people about the graciousness of others who made food available and to be thankful that some spent the day making them food. What a disgrace.

Got it.

But.

But,

St Mary's Parish -which is Catholic- gave the protestees free food to which they -sometimes wearing masks of Guy Fawkes- found to be substandard, which would have been a slap to the face of Fawkes who was trying to reinstate catholicism in merry ol' 400 year, grudge holding, england.

November 5th actually celebrates the safety of the king of merry ol grudge holding brits,,, so in cruel irony, the occupy protestees are spouting a date that celebrates an absolute monarchy, an elite, a blue blood, the first big dirty money gathered from the down trodden.

Though roast chestnuts and fireworks would be good right now.

Should go and put holes in the unoccupied tents. That'd **** off the granolas down there sporting their MEC and North Face... Since when did homeless guys get geared up like that? They should do it like the street people and use an old jacket and a tarp... Lol

Interesting...In the movie the government were true villains...killing people that disagreed with them...stifling opposition and counter opinions. Now some people seem to follow the fanatic mania and link the movie icon with some kids that feel they deserve more...for doing less.

So in true form...our villainous government is allowing most of these persons to illegally camp...provide toilets...seek condom donations...and try and stop homeless people finding shelter.

Seriously...remember remember the fifth of November...as the day these druggies started overdosing. Maybe if Vancouver did not allow an illegal party in the park...the woman would still be alive. But hey...these are the quality of people that feel they know what is best for everyone else. 1,000,000 people in Calgary...and 25 are protesting.

I wish they would at least pick a topic. This randomly generated protest babble not only lost steam...but precipitated out and left in the storm drains.

It should be the middle class protesting as were the ones that are getting screwed by both the rich coporate welfare types and the poor, and were on the hook for the huge debt, taxes have no where to go but up, standard of living down. The middle class is all to busy working living pay check to pay check, the welfare class is protesting but most of them don't know why they are there.

I went down there today to protest the protesters and say one mask hanging off a tent. Then Cory Parked his truck with all the other protesters and had singes on saying " two ply toilet paper in public bathrooms" or "Bring back Arrested development" Then the cops showed up and towed his truck because it somehow is a health risk but the protesters are taking dumps out side there tents. And yet the campers stay even with clearly marked sings saying no camping.

More wussified news. Bleeding heart politicians giving more concessions to bleeding heart deadbeats, losers, druggies and those with an actual agenda that would help the country, alike.

Vancouver gets stay of execution

In Vancouver, meanwhile, a lawyer representing Occupy Vancouver was able to buy the tent city another week of life.

A judge ordered removal from the encampment of all propane tanks and heat sources by 7 p.m. Wednesday and of all unoccupied tents and tarps by 2 p.m. Thursday.

Failing compliance, fire officials can move in to ensure bylaws are followed, a judge said during a hearing on the city's application for an injunction to oust occupiers.

The conditions also include an enforcement order, meaning police can arrest those who obstruct fire officials.

and so on.....

I say the protesters should be charged $25 a night for camping fees. Let's see how many of them stay then.

I think the protesters should be getting EI. They can't work and protest both and it's important that they are standing up for all of us. It is vital that they take our case to the world and a few months of EI will carry them into the spring when the weather improves. Hopefully by then the big corps and gov't come to their senses and see how important these protests really are.

I cant wait until it all goes to hell at these protests and the coppers go in cracking skulls. There is nothing that puts a smile on my face like watching a hippy get a beat down. In all likelihood though, we'll just freeze them out.

It will be nice and cold this weekend.
Time to get the ice rink ready at Olympic plaza.
Maybe a few friendly firemen can turn their hoses on and get us started on that ice making!

I`m getting a seasonal layoff here pretty soon.Should I go get another job like usual or set up a tent in front of city hall and whine?Maybe I can cash in on some of that "sub-standard food"
Sure would free up a lot of time for hunting.
