They should pass a law making it mandatory to floss.

If it saves just one tooth...

If saving lives is number one why do you do anything with any hazard? walking is a hazard, not walking enough is a hazard. We don't need to save everyone, it messes with natural selection and is causing the human de-volution.

I assure you that I have at least 2 brain cells and I rarely wear a seatbelt outside large centers. Bad road conditions, sure. Unfamiliar terrain on the RZR, certainly. Driving a couple miles down the gravel road, no, its not needed.
And until a hardhat saves your life it's a stupid requirement?

OK let's say you and your 2 brain cells are happily motoring down a gravel road and meet someone with a single cell texting and driving and they swerve and run you off the road or hit you. Accidents happen. They're called accidents because you didn't plan for them.
There's a reason most accidents happen close to home. You get complacent and you get hurt.

By all means don't wear a helmet do what ever you like. Darwinism at work I'd say.

You can avoid that situation, by not riding your atv down a gravel road, which is actually illegal in most cases.

Don't worry
I promise to low ball when I buy your quad from you as you sit there and drool from your brain injury
Or when your widow puts it up for sale after they scrape your brains off the pavement.

What was that?

If he had only worn a helmet?

Exactly...if I ride with the troops as in muddling etc then we gear up but if I'm putting around the back forty, running the dog etc at a walking speed at best no bucket for me...

I am an experienced atv rider. Last week I slipped and fell backward off the quad trailer after taking off my helmet after loading my quad....doh! Was just taking gear off the quad rack. I had a goose egg on my head the size of my fist....had a nice trip to emerg and X-rays, painkillers, anti inflammatories. Still hurting and still have a goose egg. If I left the helmet on until safely on the ground....sigh.

My point......Yes, an inconvenience helmets can be but things can happen when you least expect it. It makes sense to take precautions. **** happens.

I will always wear a helmet, I was really scared last week after my injury....lots of horror stories about head injuries.

I'm all for helmets. Never in my life voted for the left. It's not a parallel.

Much like the seat belt law. Wear it or not. It's there to protect you from yourself because you're safe, you're a good driver, never going to make a mistake.

Like many have said. Things happen.
Break a tie rod at 30 kph your quad is going to do things you're not ready for...... well none of the guys on AO we are all perfect and safe.

It's not about the helmet, it's about me be able to think on my own and freedom from the government. With what I see here most are happy with the dictator form of government. Sad to see our generation throw away the freedom our fathers enjoyed.

Honestly this was me too until my grizzly broke a tie rod and flipped when I was checking fence. If it hadnt been for a snow drift I'm not sure what would have happened. Never been on a quad or bike without a helmet since.

I have no problem with people wearing helmets. It is your choice......let's keep it at that

Are you upset they come down hard for drinking and driving now? Cause when my father was young it was barely enforced.

People were smart enough not to do it ..... I guess.

I like how everybody thinks they have the right to do whatever they want. In reality, you have to be a real ********** to think that because it's your body you can do what you want.
Your body is your wife's body, your kid's body, your parent's body etc.

When you're a drooling, non-verbal, diaper pooping veg, how many people do you think you're effecting now?

I don't know, are people smart enough not to do it now. You mean with the law it has stopped. Good, glad to see we have no more impaired people on our roads.

Yes indeed. I used to be astounded at he level of socialism on this forum, not any more. There's always the same 5-10 dimwits unabashedly raising their leftist mugs, to make me shake my head. For the most part I try not to partake in their idiotic threads.
And for you out there ultra concerned about me and my safety, no I won't be wearing a helmet when I don't deem it necessary. And no I don't wear a seat belt when I don't deem it necessary.

At least with helmets. Fidel Trudeau won't be able to do this effectively.

Horse back riders can go just as fast, on a vehicle with a mind of its own and have a longer way to fall. Helmets for the broke-back crowd?

What about fat people and people who drink too much and people who smoke too much and people who don`t get enough fresh air and people who don`t excercise enough and people who don`t walk enough ??????? You got some laws for them too ????
